What’s in a name…

So Apple got sued by Cisco who has the “iPhone” name trademarked (in the USA), but what’s really in a name.

After doing some travelling, especially to Japan, you start to see some funny linguistic quirks.

- the long “e” sound like in “email” means good in Japanese.  For us, it’s electronic.
- the long “i” sound like in “iPod” means love in Japanese and Chinese.  For us, it’s Internet or Interactive.
I’m sure there are a few others, but it definitely makes you think about things like email being good and loving your iPod.  Now many are lusting for their next phone.
