In 2018, Tyler and Scott Jorgens set about transforming Newark Memorial High School's distance running program. Within 5 years, they went from middle of the pack in the league to multiple league championships (boys and girls), individual title winners (XC and track), an NCS runner-up placement and two trips to the CIF State Championship.
I'm proud that I was able to to contribute by bringing several students from the junior high school to jump start the program. Here's a quick list of the notables.
